Here lies the nitty gritty.

Calligraphy Commission Process

Step 1 . Reach out to me via my Contact Page, Facebook, Instagram or email for a commissioned project.

Step 2. Let’s talk. After you have reached out to me for a project, I will schedule a conversation with you where we discuss your vision. You may send some samples or colour palettes that would help me visualise what you want the finished product to look.

Step 3. Sign the Agreement Form. Once we have had our conversation, you are requested to read through my calligraphy process and policies and sign at the bottom as a form of agreement.

Step 4. Send a 50% deposit. I will be notified when you have signed the Agreement Form and you will receive an email with my bank details. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before I start any type of production.

Step 5. Send the copy or list. Once the deposit has been sent, kindly email me the text/list of names/copy that you want me to write. If it is possible, kindly send it to me in PDF or Excel format. They will be written exactly as set so please check everything before sending. If you have last minute amendments, you may do so within 2 days after the initial copy has been sent.

Step 6. Send the materials. The number of materials you send should be the correct number you want to be done. Please send an extra 3 cards for every 10 cards to cover for mistakes or last-minute additions.

If you are commissioning 20 cards, please send 6 extra cards; for 30 cards, 9 cards, and so on and so forth.

Step 7. Production time. It’s time for you to joyfully wait for your project while I get my hands ink-stained as I work on it.

Production time is project-based and is on a first come first serve basis. I am a one-woman team so I would need for you to be extra patient with me. I want to produce the best quality handwritten pieces for you.

These are the time estimates for each project:

A4 artworks - 2 weeks

Branding/Logo - 1 month

Place cards - 3 weeks minimum (depending on quantity)

Envelope addressing - 3 weeks minimum (depending on quantity)

Wedding vow - 1 month

Welcome sign - 2 weeks minimum (more quantity needs more time)

Seating plan - 3 weeks minimum (depending on length)

Table numbers - 1 week

Table menu - 2 weeks minimum (additional menu pieces for more tables need more time)

Wedding monogram - 1 month

Others - subject to discussion

For two or more wedding-related works (envelopes, place cards, welcome sign, seating plan, table numbers, table menu, monogram), please allow at least 3 months in advance lead time.

Please note that these could change at any moment depending on the number of projects I am working on at the time. These will be discussed with you during the initial conversation (Step 2).

Step 8. Revision time. There will be two rounds of revision only. Any other revision requests after that will incur a cost.

When I send the final artwork proof, kindly check carefully if there are misspellings or corrections that were missed.

Small commissioned artworks such letters, poems, lyrics and quotes are not subject to revisions. They are considered final. I will, however, send you a photo of the finished product as a final proof before send off.

Step 9. Final proof and send off. After the final proof has been approved*, kindly settle your remaining balance. Once I have received the complete payment, I will now be shipping them to you. Shipping takes about 1-7 days depending on where you are in Australia and New Zealand. If you need the shipping to be expedited, let me know. Corresponding fees apply.

I am able to send to selected countries internationally. Shipping costs and delivery time will vary.

Happy to entertain collections on a case-to-case basis. Please have a chat to me about it during our initial conversation if this is what you prefer.

*Please note that small commissioned artworks will not be subject to client approval. It would have been discussed during the initial chat that your vision will be recreated based on my calligraphy and creative style. You have commissioned me for my originality and not to just simply copy something from someone’s artwork on the internet. Trust in me!

Errors After the Fact

If any error is found in an approved and already sent artwork, refunds will not be entertained. I do value the quality of my work though so I am most definitely happy to replace them for you. However, replacements will be subject to the same cost of the project for how many needs to be replaced, additional materials (e.g. additional envelopes or cards), as well as the postage when you send it back to me and delivery costs after I make the replacements.

You need to let me know of any replacements needed within 48 hours of receiving the finished works.

Envelopes, place cards and table menus

For example, if I send you your finished place cards of 10 pieces and you realise that the spelling of 2 names in the list you sent me were incorrect and were missed during the initial check, you need to let me know within 48 hours. Once I have acknowledged this, you need to send the incorrect cards back to me, 2 new cards (where I write it correctly) along with 3 extra cards to cover for mistakes. You are to cover the delivery fee in sending this back to me along with the corresponding price of the additional project plus the shipping fee for when I send it back to you.

Welcome signs and seating plans

Because these would most likely be bigger sized and a different material (big cardboard, wood, or glass), errors on these will be tackled on a case-to-case basis.

Please know that before shipping off anything to you, I will be taking a photo of them and sending them to you for approval. So please, check and double check each name and word, so we can prevent errors from happening.

A4 commissioned artworks, weddings vows

Small commissioned artworks such letters, poems, lyrics and quotes are not subject to error returns. They are considered final. I would like to think that I would be sending these off to you word-per-word as you have sent.

If any case out of the ordinary pops up, let me know. We will tackle and find a solution for it together.

Other Important Things to Remember

-       Please note that all artworks are done by hand (unless stated otherwise) which means that each writing may differ ever so slightly. It will all be similar based on my calligraphy style, however, if small variations occur, this is part of the process. This is the beauty of this art; each handwriting is unique.

-       Any name and private information you have given me will not be sold or traded to outside parties.

-       I reserve the right to take photos of your finished work for my marketing purposes. I may post them on social media where you may be tagged. I may request for copies of photographs that were taken during your event where my works were featured. These will be used for my website and social media platforms with the photographer and you, as my client, tagged.

-       As much as possible, I won’t do rush orders. I am a one-woman team with a 9-5 corporate job so it is essential that I spend as much time as I can to perfect your commissioned work. The more time I have, the better the output would be.

-       I am not responsible for any damage/loss of package caused by the courier during transit. If you have received a damaged packaged or have found that it was lost in transit, kindly let me know within 48 hours of finding out about it. I will try my best to investigate with the courier. However, please know that these are forces that I have no complete control over so let’s work together to find the best solution.

If you have any more questions or clarifications, please feel free to email me.

I am excited to work with you!
